Research

The operational focus of SAHI is to support the research interests of orthopaedic surgeons and facilitate productive interaction between clinicians, sponsors, and host institutions. SAHI operates on a collaborative basis with interested institutions, both locally and internationally, to support advances in the treatment of musculoskeletal disease.

SAHI provides an avenue for investigator driven, unsponsored research into many areas of the orthopaedic field. This includes support for senior clinicians and orthopaedic registrars, as well as PhD students and visiting research fellows, to undertake research.

SAHI provides significant input into all facets of the initiation and implementation of clinical trials, with a particular interest in the effectiveness and safety of devices or new treatments for musculoskeletal conditions. SAHI strives to work with clinicians, sponsors, allied health professionals, researchers, and students to provide expertise in research, musculoskeletal health service delivery, consultation and medical education in Australia and world-wide.
